My latest watercolor explorations

Below are some of my latest watercolor explorations. These happened while I was on a much needed vacation.  I’m still on a florals kick and I don’t know if that will be stopping anytime soon! The first is a floral wreath ‘thank you’ card that we sent to my husband’s uncle. The second is one of…

Watercolor flowers

I recently painted these small watercolor flowers and added a leafy vine underneath as a nice final touch. I loved how the white matted frame brings it all together. My mother in law, who was the recipient, loved it which made me super happy!

Let’s face it…who nose?

I decided to start practicing sketching faces and facial features- noses in particular. Now, I’m not where I want to be with my sketching but thank God I’m not where I used to be… I’m proud of the progress I’ve made and truly do believe that consistent practice is worth it and goes a long…

My other creative outlet…

Lately I have been supplementing my knitting and crocheting with some art.  It started out with colored pencil and has since migrated into watercolor painting. After doing research on both colored pencil and watercolor painting, I decided to go with Prismacolor Premier colored pencils and Winsor & Newton watercolor tubes.  And both have been great!…

Monet’s Watercolor

Here is my latest hand-dyed 100% Merino Top NOT for sale in my Etsy shop, Lol. It is actually being donated by me as a prize for The Dyer’s Notebook Summer DAL. The colorway is called “Monet’s Watercolor” as it reminded me of the colors in my reprint of Monet’s “Boats at Argenteuil”. The braid…
