CashSilk Luxe

I’m offering a new base by special order only. It is called CashSilk Luxe and it is 437 yds. of lace weight yarn. Made of 70% Cashmere and 30% Mulberry Silk, this yarn is as soft as a cloud! I’ve recently had the pleasure of custom dyeing gradients using this base for a couple of…

Maize mitts… or a variation of

When I was recently looking through my hand-spun yarn stash, I picked out some fiber dyed by Three Waters Farms that I spun into a lovely 2 ply. I believe I have close to 800 or so yards between 6 skeins. The fiber is a mixture of Polwarth wool and silk and let me tell…

New hand-dyes

Here are some yarns and roving that I hand-dyed this afternoon. The yarns/roving are still drying so I hope to have nicer pictures when they are dry. I will have names figured out soon as well. I love how the colors turned out! Well, tomorrow starts me back to work. My vacation is over but…

On the bobbin

Here is what I’m currently spinning on my Sidekick: This fiber is from Yarn Hollow’s sampler tin spinner’s feast that I purchased a few weeks ago from Natural Stitches. What drew me to buying the tin was seeing it Navajo or Chain plied at Natural Stitches. It looked amazing and felt great on the skin…

My oh my ! My 2 ply…

My 8 ounces of Polwarth/Tussah Silk is finally all spun up! I started plying last night. I decided I wanted to preserve the potential yardage I could attain by 2 plying the yarn and that is exactly what I did. I’m very pleased that I took my time spinning this so that it could relax…

First Bloom hand spun

Here is my finished hand spun in colorway First Bloom all finished and up for sale in my Etsy shop. It is 3 ply worsted, 185 yds., and is a Polwarth/Silk mix.

Some more hand-spun almost done

Here is my just 3 ply Polwarth/Silk hand-dyed from Three Waters Farm fresh off the Niddy Noddy. It is colorway First Bloom. The 4 ounce braid yielded about 185 yds. I always subtract 5 yds. From the actual calculated amount of yds. So, it was actually just about 190 yds. initially. I’d call it worsted…

Girlfriends spun up

Here is the color way Girlfriends from Three Waters Farm spun up on my wheel done in 2 ply. I wanted to try chain or Navajo ply but feared I would mess it up and ruin these gorgeous singles. Plus, I’m not tired of the barber pole effect yet. I actually really like it.

Girlfriends

Here is a glimpse of what I’ve spun up so far out of my roving from Three Waters Farm. The color way is called Girlfriends.
