My Manos Del Uruguay Roving

I finished spinning my Manos Del Uruguay roving and decided to leave it as singles which is normally something I don’t do. Lately, I’ve been on a chain plying kick. So, here it is making its debut- my Manos extrafine merino interspersed with some of my own dyed bright green roving in approx. 580 yds….

My Manos roving has arrived!!!!

I was pleasantly surprised after coming home from visiting my in-laws to find that my package of new Manos roving arrived in the mail! It is so beautiful looking and extremely soft. It is 100% Extra Fine Merino and is 3.5 ounces. The colorway based on Fairmount’s website and the tag on the braid appears…

Manos Del Uruguay new roving

I had picked up a braid of Manos Del Uruguay’s new roving while on my mini-vaca to Southport, NC at the lovely Angelwings Needle Shop. A few days ago I was intent on finally getting it spun on my wheel because I had the Yarn Hollow sampler I was spinning fresh off of the bobbin….

Southport, NC

Time for a new WIP

I’m trying to think of a new project to go along with my Manos Del Uruguay silk blend yarn. Should I knit with it or should I crochet? The only thing I don’t like about this wool blend is how it almost creates knots onto itself if you have to tink or frog it… sometimes…

New yarn purchases

If I’m in Sewickley, which usually occurs on a weekly basis, then that means I’m usually at Starbucks and my LYS Yarns Unlimited which usually means I buy yarn. Today, I got my hands on some Manos Del Uruguay Silk Blend in a lovely blend of mauve/pink/lavender/celadon/cumin/mint colors. The colorway is called Wildflower and it…
