Sewing: McCalls’s M7505 Pattern

When I want to sew or knit something that I will wear, I try to be very conscious of how it will “get along” with the other pieces I have in my wardrobe which is why I tend to make neutral-based, non-trendy items.

A couple of months ago, I was in the mood to make a flowy dress that wasn’t too casual yet wasn’t too dressy either. This McCall’s pattern fit what I was looking for perfectly. I find that it is a nice blend of both, especially if you choose your fabric wisely. Because I chose this fun floral print, it’s more on the dressier side.

The fabric is Fiesta Shadowed Blooms and it is a woven synthetic.  It was extremely easy to work with and I was able to snag 2 yards of it from Craftsy for a total of $11.50!

    Love the bell sleeves!

I can actually imagine it in many fabrics, even a chambray/light denim to wear with woolly tights and boots!

Yes, those fabrics would also work great!

OOh I just looked the pattern up – the sleeves are trumpet not bell – there’s me thinking I knew what I was talking about! I might consider buying that pattern.

I have to educate myself on the difference between trumpet and bell sleeves.
