I’m so happy to announce that I finally finished my Featherweight Cardigan by Hannah Fettig! This is a big feat for me since it’s been on my needles for over a year and it is the first sweater I’ve ever made for myself. I’ve only ever knitted baby & toddler sweaters.
I knit this out of Malabrigo Sock yarn in the colorway Lotus. I didn’t want to use laceweight and I think Malabrigo offers a nice price point for the amount of yardage that you get in a skein. Malabrigo Sock is 100% superwash merino with 440 yards to a skein. You can find it online at Webs. I knit for the 38.75″ bust so that I would have a bit of ease. So I purchased 3 skeins and had a major mishap with one (it was a tangled mess after I had attempted to use my ball winder) so I really ended up with maybe 2 1/2 skeins. But, I still have a good amount left. If I had to guess, I would say about 150 yds?? In general, I really like the yarn. The only thing I disliked was the pilling that occurred mid-knit. This yarn blocks very well. After I removed it from soaking and gently pressed the water out, the fabric was very pliable and you could manipulate it very nicely.
I’ll be debuting this Tuesday!
