Southport, NC

We got into Southport, NC today and are leaving Sunday. We are in town for a Saturday wedding that my sister, my son, and I are in.

The town of Southprort is just my kind of quaint beach town. I love all of the little shops.

It reminds me of my all time fave vacation spot – Cape May, NJ.

So we had a slight issue. Tropical Storm Andrea was moving in on us and it made us nervous for the wedding on Saturday. Luckily, there was only some bouts of strong wind and periods of rain- nothing major.

I did find a lovely yarn shop in Southport called Angelwing Needle Arts. It had a nice selection of yarns that my locals don’t carry like Frog Tree, Knit One Crochet Too, and some hand-dyed roving from Manos Del Uruguay (which was beautiful and I never knew existed).

I made some purchases and probably spent the most I’ve ever spent at one time on yarn at that shop.

My purchases included 4 skeins of Berocco’s Weekend Chunky, 2 skeins of Knit One Crochet Too’s Crock-o-dye, 3.5 ounces of hand-dyed roving by Manos Del Uruguay, 1 skein of Frog Tree Pediboo, and the Sock Yarn One Skein Wonders book.

Over all, I really enjoyed the town!
