Carter’s sweater & scrumptious Tosh DK

Aw yes… I wanted to provide an update on the little man’s sweater so that I can now hold myself accountable for when I deliberately choose not to pick it up and continue working on it… I am making progress. I am at where the body and sleeves divide. If you have followed my previous…

New House

Here is a taste of colorway New House spun up on my Sidekick. It is my latest indulgence from Three Waters Farm. I absolutely love the colors…the pic doesn’t do any justice. I still am on the fence with regards to how I should ply this. I bought 8 ounces of this colorway…I’d love to…

A trip to Jo-Ann’s & Debbie Bliss S/S 2013

I ran to Jo-Ann fabrics this afternoon to purchase some items for a bridal shower basket I am making for my friend’s wedding in June. The wedding is in Bald Head Island, NC and the shower is tomorrow. The shower is held locally and each of us bridesmaids made a basket. The idea is that…

Whiskey

Here is my hand-dyed Berroco Ultra Alpaca base in a colorway I named Whiskey. It’s a deep brown/amber/bourbon. The skein yields approximately 160 yds. Available for sale in my Etsy shop.

Some of my favorite knitting pod/vid casts

I’m totally addicted to listening to knitting pod/vid casts and wanted to post some of my favorites and hopefully get some comments from you as to which ones I should add to my queue. So below is my list and mostly some characteristics that get me to continue listening to a knitting podcast is obviously…

I couldn’t resist.

Here is a pic of my latest purchase from Three Waters Farm. It is Polwarth/Silk and I bought two 4 ounce braids of this lovely colorway called New House. As you can see, it’s got a lot of blues and greens and some taupe browns. I’d like to spin it as dk or lace weight…

Sugarplum Mist hand spun, hand dyed

Here is a yarn that I spun as thick and thin / slub and hand dyed. I pre-soaked the wool and kettle dyed it using Wilton Gel Food Colors. Overall, I’m very pleased with how it turned out. I love how it is pastel-y blue and purple. Those two colors and a little help from…

First Bloom hand spun

Here is my finished hand spun in colorway First Bloom all finished and up for sale in my Etsy shop. It is 3 ply worsted, 185 yds., and is a Polwarth/Silk mix.

Some more hand-spun almost done

Here is my just 3 ply Polwarth/Silk hand-dyed from Three Waters Farm fresh off the Niddy Noddy. It is colorway First Bloom. The 4 ounce braid yielded about 185 yds. I always subtract 5 yds. From the actual calculated amount of yds. So, it was actually just about 190 yds. initially. I’d call it worsted…

Kitchen Kettle Village

During our stay with my in-laws, we all made a trip to Dutch country. We visited Strasburg and rode the Strasburg Rail Road. The journey started with a “45-minute train ride on America’s oldest short-line railroad – circa 1832.” The little guy loves trains so it was fun to take him to the gift shops…
