I went to Natural Stitches in the East End and picked up a few new yarns, a drop spindle, and some roving. I’m new to spinning on a spindle and so far so good. I’m getting used to the motions and am ready to make a homemade lazy Kate.
So regarding my new yarn purchases, I picked up some Cascade 220 Paints in discontinued colorway Paradise Beach. There were 4 left and I picked up 2. I realized this had been the exact same colorway I was looking for almost 2 1/2 years ago and finally found it!! I had made a hospital hat for Carter while in labor out of this yarn and loved it so I was so glad I found it. I love the subtle green/blue/lavender colors- they are so soothing to me.
My other yarn purchase was some Malabrigo Rios in colorway 862 Piedras. Another beautiful colorway of rusty reds/mustardy yellows/golds/purples/greens.
Moving on to the roving… I picked up a Wollie 4 pack of Blue Face Leicester from Mountain Colors. This was my practice spinning yarn. The colors were beautiful… I wish I could picture them here but it turned out to be a mess on my part because it really was my experimental drop spindling roving.
However, I will show you a picture of some beautiful BFL I purchased from Three Waters Farm on Etsy.
