WIP -Puerperium Cardigan

Making some more progress on the cardigan, but it’s been a little slow going. So I’m trying to relax and knit on this beautiful day off that I have after having seriously strained my neck sleeping last night. Ouch :-/. I’m hoping that 2 Ibuprofen and some Biofreeze will help.

Happy Thanksgiving

Today was a beautiful day spent with family and friends. I am so thankful to God for everything he’s blessed me with in my life- trials and all. He’s made me such a strong person. I owe everything to Him. I had some time today to make some delicious Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies. They came…

WIP – Puerperium Cardigan

I’m hoping to put more of a dent in my Puerperium Cardigan. With Thanksgiving coming up and my time off of work, it should be better. I love how the yarn is knitting up and the stitch definition is great! The pattern called for size 6 needles but after swatching, size 4 needles gave me…

Carter’s Birthday Weekend

Just coming off of Carter’s birthday weekend in which we celebrated with family from out of town and then family from in town. Carter had a ball at the model train museum and at his party. His birthday is actually tomorrow but his party was yesterday. I bought Carter some clothes from Old Navy and…

WIP – Puerperium Cardigan

I decided on the Puerperium Cardigan by Kelly Brooker for my Manos del Uruguay yarn and I’m gauge swatching right now. Boy, was I wrong about my reservations with regards to this yarn. It’s not what I thought it would be. So far, it’s swatching like a dream! I love this yarn!!!!

Time for a new WIP

I’m trying to think of a new project to go along with my Manos Del Uruguay silk blend yarn. Should I knit with it or should I crochet? The only thing I don’t like about this wool blend is how it almost creates knots onto itself if you have to tink or frog it… sometimes…

FO – Sister’s Big Herringbone Cowl

So glad I can now consider my sister’s Big Herringbone Cowl an FO! I used Berocco’s Ultra Alpaca and thought it was ok for this knit. Clearly not as drapey when compared to the one I knit for myself using Blue Sky Alpaca’s Organic Cotton due to the cotton’s natural drape characteristics, but a nice…

SSS – Second Sock Syndrome

Tonight, I casted on for the 2nd Garter Stripe Baby Sock for fear of  developing Second Sock Syndrome… I can’t wait to finish it so that I can move on to the next project. Right now, I’m thinking of what my next yarn purchase and pattern will be… maybe some more Malabrigo Rios yarn… I love…

Wa La! A finished baby sock :)

Yay! I finished the first sock. Because of how big this looks, I decided to try and slip it on Carter’s foot while he was sleeping in his crib. I couldn’t tell in the dark if it was a good fit and I didn’t want to wake him up, so I figured I would try…

5 more frogs, 2 life lines, and 1 successfully turned heel later…,

Wow…I’ve never had this much difficulty with this $#!? baby sock!! It’s Wednesday, I’m at Starbucks, and I am finally starting to knit the foot section. This is a huge point in time for me with this project… While it was another late night knitting affair (was up until 3 am this am), I want…
