WIP – Big Herringbone Cowl #2

One of my current WIP is another Big Herringbone Cowl that I am making for my sister.

I am knitting this in Berroco’s Ultra Alpaca in colorway # 6201. It is 50% alpaca and 50% wool and there are 215 yards to a skein. Even though I used two skeins of the Blue Sky Alpaca organic cotton, I will most likely only be using about one skein and a half of the Berroco.

While I love the end result, this is such a painstakingly slow knit for me. I blame that on the actual herringbone stitch itself. Oh, and did I mention that I have yet to figure out how to frog the herringbone stitch? I’ve attempted to look it up but have not had any luck yet. So, there are a few flubs in it but only the trained eye of a knitter should be able to spot them…there’s like 3.

Oh well.

I hope to be done with this project soon.
